Teach Abroad in Denmark | Teach Away

August 2024 ยท 2 minute read

Denmark offers many opportunities for teachers worldwide for teaching jobs, particularly in the country's numerous international schools and private language schools.

Education holds a high priority in Danish society, and the education system is held to a very high standard as a result, making the country a valuable destination for teachers looking to hone their skills and develop their teaching careers abroad.

The public education system in Denmark is strictly regulated. Teachers with non-Danish teaching credentials looking for positions in the primary and secondary school systems will first need to apply to the Danish Agency for Higher Education and request the recognition of their international qualifications. Expat teachers may also be required to undergo further training.

Denmark also offers several English teaching opportunities for expat teachers outside of the mainstream public school system, either in private language schools or bilingual international schools. These schools are concentrated in the main urban centers of Denmark like Copenhagen, Fredericia, Glostrup, and Hellerup.
